This iron sculpture was originally titled 𝘾𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 and was purchased in 2016 by someone as a gift for their partner. In late 2019, I got an email from the partner expressing that she no longer wanted the piece as the relationship had dissolved.

When she arrived at my home a few days later to return the piece, I asked her if she knew what the title of it was. She said no, so I explained that I called it 𝘾𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 because of all the sharp edges - a cautionary tale to literally be careful where you touched it lest you get hurt.

She didn't share much, and I didn't pry, but it really got me thinking about the symbolism of the piece, it's title, how it seemed to represent a relationship that no longer exists.

Needless to say, we decided to sage & clear the energy of this piece. We thanked it for it's role in such an intimate and necessary story. Then we renamed it Our 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 Story as love can be risky & sharp & beautiful all at once! This vessel is once again for sale and ready to carry our combined universal love stories into future generations.

No matter what you think about this story, it reaffirms by belief that art is powerful & important in intimate ways.
